Mf840 Two Component Polysulfide Sealant for Insulating Glass
♦ MIXING AND DISPENSING INSTRUCTIONS
Ensure that SILANDE MF840 is mixed thoroughly and remains air-bubble free, adhering to the precise ratio.
For optimal performance, mix SILANDE MF840 in a base to curing agent ratio of 10:1 by weight, or 8.6:1 by volume. This mix ratio typically provides a working time of 20-30 minutes and allows units to be handled within 6-8 hours. Slight deviations are permissible, but should stay within 100:6 to 100:12 by weight to maintain minimum properties.

. CURING
When SILANDE MF840A base is mixed with+SILANDE MF840 B catalyst at a 10:1 weight ratio, it becomes tack-free in about 25-35 minutes at ambient conditions of 23°C,50%R.H. The IGUs can be transported to the project after 3 days. Full properties develop within 5 days as curing by-products evaporate, although it may take longer in colder climates.
Ensure successful adhesion and compatibility tests are conducted before commencing the project.

The MF-840 series is a solvent-free, two-component, room-temperature curing elastic sealant with excellent bonding properties, suitable for materials such as glass, aluminum alloy, and galvanized steel.
The MF840 series consists of two components: A (base paste) which is a white, uniform, delicate paste, and B (curing paste) which is black, uniform, and delicate. The recommended mix ratio is A:B = 100: (6-12) by weight, with 100:10 being ideal.
The primary application of the MF840 series sealant is in the production of insulating glass.
Insulating glass: This innovative product consists of two or more glass panes, meticulously supported, evenly spaced, and securely bonded and sealed around the perimeter. This construction creates a dry gas space between the glass layers, ensuring optimal insulation and energy efficiency.
MF840 series sealant: Designed for versatility, our MF840 series sealant can be paired with butyl sealant, with butyl serving as the primary seal and polysulfide as the secondary (outer) seal. Additionally, it is adept at sealing single-channel insulating glass, offering robust and reliable protection.
