Premium 3A Zeolite Molecular Sieves for Double Glazing Applications

The powerful effect of desiccants on insulating glass

The desiccant inside the insulating glass can not only adsorb moisture and residual organic matter in the insulating glass, so that the insulating glass will not fog below -60 ºC, but also balance the internal and external pressure difference caused by the huge seasonal or diurnal temperature difference, extending the service life of the insulating glass. At present, more than 95% of the failure problems of insulated glass after being installed on the wall are caused by fogging. Once the insulated glass fogges, it means that the edge sealing system fails, which in turn leads to oxidation of the Low-E film layer, resulting in functional failures such as appearance color and energy-saving performance.

Desiccant achieves its function by deeply drying the sealed air layer inside the hollow glass: (1) adsorbing moisture in the air inside the sealed cavity of the hollow glass; (2) Absorb the moisture that continuously seeps into the interior of the hollow glass through the sealant in the later stage; (3) Used in combination with other special molecular sieves to adsorb volatile substances released by insulating glass sealants.
