Molecular sieves play an important role in insulating glass. It is used to avoid condensation and frost on the inner surface of the insulating glass, evaporation of the solvent in the sealant, deflection under severe weather conditions, and hydrocarbons in the air such as paint, detergent and other solvents. In the process of production and use, the water vapor in the air will be sealed in the hollow glass. When the ambient temperature drops below the dew point of the gas in the insulating glass, condensation will occur. The cold side of the hollow glass will form condensation water.Molecular sieves play an important role in insulating glass. How much adsorbent needs to be used in insulating glass? Can answer from three aspects: experience, water balance, or demand equivalent. Experience indicates that most manufacturers choose two long sides or one long side and one short side to fill the adsorbent. In many cases, this has been met. Water balance is a scientific method. There must be a satisfactory adsorbent to remove the water that enters during the production process and the service life of the insulating glass. And only a small part of the adsorbent is used to start drying. The "relative humidity driving force" causes water to enter the interior of the insulating glass. This driving force is generated when the humidity outside is higher than the humidity inside the hollow glass. Removal of the water in the service life of the insulating glass can be calculated through the water balance. This calculation requires knowing the water entering speed, the planned life of the insulating glass and the highest dew point required in the service life of the insulating glass. The demand equivalent refers to the minimum amount of dryness required per inch when testing insulating glass. In the United States, insulating glass manufacturers have already established demand equivalents, and many countries are also considering them.
